I thought I’d lighten the mood a bit today and to start it off, I have an admission to make. I’m a P-plater. Yes. A few weeks shy of my 34th birthday and the holder of a provisional driver’s license.
Self Esteem & The Average Teen
I was an average kid who grew into an average teen. I think it was the first year of high school when I really started to be pretty certain that I was, in fact, terribly overweight. I’d had an inkling that this was the case in primary school, but it seemed less important then. By the time I’d figured out where to get the bus from, I’d also learned that I was at least 2 clothing sizes too big. I was very tall for my age, but this seemed irrelevant at the time.

We rent our home. It’s not going to change for the foreseeable future and frankly, it sucks. Don’t get me wrong, it also has a positive side but these days I find it hard to remember what that is. I’m sure it will come to me at some point.

Have you heard of the Bechdel Test? It’s a way to show gender equality in films and to demonstrate how women are under represented due to our old friend, sexism. It has 3 criteria that must be met to pass. It must have 1- two women in it 2- who talk to each other 3-about something other than a man.
