Recently, actor Kristin Davis made an appearance on morning news/current affairs show, Sunrise. She was there to talk about the work of the UNHCR with female refugees, specifically about working to prevent gender-based violence and sexual assault.
In the past week or so, since 2016 began, I feel like I’ve done nothing but shake my head. Do you know what I mean? Politics, sports, news stories and the reactions to them- everything has me wondering what the bloody hell Australia is coming to- and I say that well aware that I sound like a called to a talk-back radio show. Is it just me, or has Australia in 2016 got the “Feminist Outrage Machine” cranking already?
A Current Affair has, this week, again proved it’s relevancy and sensitivity as a leading outlet of sensationalist bullshit um, news stuff, by giving a platform to former Labor MP Gary Johns to discuss his somewhat unconventional ideas on welfare reform.
In this Women of Words Blogcast, myself and Melissa of Hugzilla Blog had a chat about a recent article we’d read that was a male opinion on a feminist activist and also about male feminism in general- those who identify as male feminists or consider themselves feminist allies.
