It’s 2018 and while many people still react to gender diversity in a negative way, the fear and ignorance is slowly but steadily falling away. Everyone can be a part of that process by being respectful of a person’s gender pronouns. Personally, it makes me really happy to know that we are living in a time where gender diverse people can let people know how they should be addressed or referred to. They can make decisions about their bodies and lifestyles to make living in their own skin more joyful and less painful or traumatic.
Time to Speak Up for Same-Sex Marriage
The same-sex marriage debate, thanks to this appalling postal plebiscite idea, is about to get pretty hard to stomach. Homophobic campaigners are being given extraordinary license to debate the validity of homosexual relationships in the public sphere. The cost, to the LGBTI community, is bound to be high.
If you, like me, are not directly effected by this plebiscite, that's well and good. We are very fortunate. We don't have to stand by while people who hate us or disapprove of us try to influence others to deny us a human right. It won't be our relationships being used as fodder for lies and scare-mongering. Lucky us.
School Uniforms & the Gender Agenda
When I went to high school, it was to an all-girls selective school that was very much a public school despite the strict rules, religious references and rigid policies that might have inspired one to think otherwise. The school uniforms there hadn’t changed appreciably in decades.
Safe Schools Program In A Jam- Spread the Word.
The way I see it, there are two main kinds of people in this world. The ones who like strawberry jam and the ones that don’t. Some people say it’s actually a much broader spectrum than just liking jam or not, but whatever. I’m not judging or anything. I mean, I don’t care if you don’t like strawberry jam. It’s your life, after all. I can’t say I really get it, though. Most people like strawberry jam. I mean, what’s not to like? Strawberry jam is sweet and tasty and you can buy it smooth and jelly-like or with big chunks of fruit through it- whichever way you prefer. It comes in jars and squeeze bottles and you can buy it just about anywhere.
